Distribution of the POA diary for members will commence on 8th September 2025. Retired members will receive their diary with the Autumn issue of Gatelodge in early October.

As you are aware the NEC are committed to the continued training and development of local Branch Officials.

Violence and exposure to traumatic incidents is a daily experience for Prison Officers in England and Wales and the situation is getting worse according to the latest statistics published by the Ministry of Justice. 

Representing over 30,000 Prison, Correctional and Secure Psychiatric Workers, the POA is the largest UK Union in this sector, able to trace its roots back more than 100 years.
