Prison Officers’ Association Advert to ex-prison staff

Did you work at Medomsley Detention Centre, or interact with anyone who did? The PPO needs to hear from you.

Operation Deerness, the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman’s investigation into Medomsley Detention Centre is appealing for staff who worked at Medomsley to contact them. This is not a criminal investigation. People who worked in the Centre will have first-hand information and insight which will be able to provide important context and allow the investigation to gain a fuller understanding of what life in Medomsley was like. Importantly, it will allow investigators to build a more accurate picture of how Medomsley operated and the challenges staff faced.
