CIRC 039: THE LATE TONY FREEL - HONORARY LIFE MEMBER “TOAST TO TONY”

POA Circular 30/2025 advised of the sad passing of Honorary Life Member, Tony Freel on Saturday 17 May 2025. Tony’s family have now informed me, that as per Tony’s wishes, they intend to hold a ‘Toast to Tony,’ where ex-colleagues and friends can attend, remember Tony, pay their respects, and share some memories.

A ‘Toast to Tony’ will be held on Tuesday 24 June 2025 from 13:00 until 16:00 at The Park Hotel, 625 Wigan Road, Bryn, Wigan, Greater Manchester, WN4 0BY.

It will be an informal event with no requirement to wear black.  Refreshments will be provided. 

Tony’s family will be bringing to the event some of Tony’s more prestigious medals and awards that he acquired during his time within HMPPS and with the POA, which both he and the family are very proud of. 

Please bring this Circular to the attention of interested members and retired members.
